steviedee Posted October 11, 2010 Report Posted October 11, 2010 Hi, need help as my wiper linkage is frustrating me!!! I own a 2005 1.9tdi Galaxy. Wipers seized so removed wiper linkage broke linkage with hammer trying to free spindles!!! expensive mistake anyway purchased new linkage fitted old motor and now cannot get wipers to sit properly on screen. The passenger side wiper should fit above the drivers side wiper however when i fit like this the wipers just become entangled. I think it is related to where I have positioned the wiper linkage onto the motor. Can anyone help with how the linkage motor joint should actally fit on the motor to avoid mashed up wipers and get them sitting correctly..... please help I really love my galaxy but she looks so ugly now with the wipers halfway up her screen. ola Posted October 12, 2010 Report Posted October 12, 2010 Hi, I had the same problem a couple of years ago. The motor is self adjusted, so if all joints are assembled correctly, continue according to this schedule: 1) deattach wipers 2) deattach the short linkage arm from the wiper motor shaft3) run the wiper motor a whole wiper sequence 4) attach the short linkage arm, should point due left, to the wiper motor shaft5) run the motor a whole wiper sequence and look at the wiper nuts that everything is going as it should6) attach wipers7) enjoy another rainy day :D I hope this will help you! Regards,/Ola Quote

Still mashs wipers.he only way i can see to rectify is buy some wipers arms from an old model where the driver wiper sits above the passenger side. Any advice will be appreciated. Hmmm looked at old wiper linkage and new one and they are manufactured slightly different with the connected L shaped arm od quoted the part number to me. T Quote
David Armstrong Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 Steve, My passenger wiper blade sits below the drivers blade on a 2001 mk2 galaxy. David Quote
jccd Posted August 9, 2011 Report Posted August 9, 2011 Steviedee Did you ever solve this? I've just fitted a new linkage to a 2001 Galaxy & my wipers are either clashing or hitting the screen edges. I'm coming to the conclusion that I might have to do the opposite to you you & have some wiper arms that sit the passenger side above the divers side. Cheers jccd Quote
